Thankful Thursday – My Role Model

I’ve been studying almost all day and decided it’s time I take a short break and do today’s blog.

I’m going to label today’s thank you letter to be addressed to my role model.  Like I’ve said before, you guys don’t have to go by this theme, it’s just for me personally and to have a better title 😉  However, if you do want to participate in the theme, a role model doesn’t have to be someone who you’re really close with, nor does it have to be someone that’s your specific role model.  It could be someone you don’t even know that you’ve just heard of and they had an impact on your life.  Or it could be a friend/family members role model that you want to thank for whatever reason.

Letter #3

February 16, 2012

Dear you,

I want to thank you for everything you’ve done, not just in my life, but in the lives of our family as well.  You didn’t specifically raise me, but you’ve been around my entire life, especially the last 10 years or so.  To many you’re a pretty bitter woman and I feel like people overlook the real you.  I know you’ve been hurt in the past and still have walls up from certain incidences you refuse to talk about.  I get that.  I’m the same way.  But just like I’m learning to let Jesus intervene, I hope you do the same.

I try to stand up for you when I hear other people speak negatively of you, but I’ll admit there are times I get annoyed with things you do, too, so I don’t always stand the best case when debating in your honor.  But even though we all know that you know we’ve said things about your habits and whatnot, you still love every single one of us the same.  Even though you’re bitter at times, you still radiate Christ’s love.

Despite all of the things that make you tick, you’ve always tried your very best to specifically love me extravagantly.  And I want you to know that all the times you’ve done things that have gone unnoticed, I’m thankful.  I’m so very, very thankful.  I love you with all my heart, and I can’t wait to see you allow Jesus to take complete control of your life to where you’re so vulnerable that only He can restore you.

With all my love,
