Wishful Wednesday’s

Wednesday’s are what some call “hump day,”  meaning the middle of the week.  The middle of the week can be a happy day of the week for those glass-half-full kind of people; on the other hand, Wednesday’s can be a miserable time of the week because there’s still another half of the week they have to go through.

For those glass-half-full people, Wednesday posts may just make your week that much better.  For glass-half-empty people, I have hopes that Wednesday posts will be something you look forward to; maybe it’ll change your perspective on the way you view your glass.

I’m going to label Wednesday posts “Wishful Wednesday’s.”

Webster’s Dictionary describes the word wishful as “having or showing a wish;  desirous; longing.”  Since Wednesday’s can be the homestretch day of the week, I’d love to write about things that’ll take our minds off of our busy work/school schedule.  Wednesday posts will consist of things such as “What I’d love to do if…” or “If I had a million dollars, I’d…”, etc.  If anyone has a suggestion, please feel free to slip me an email, tweet me @seeduhleaf and tag it as Wishful Wednesday’s, or drop a comment on Wednesday posts for the next week.  We can fantasize about another life together 😉

To kick-off our Wishful Wednesday’s, I’m going to start with “If you could be any famous person, who would it be and why?”  Pretty original, I know.  But I don’t have any suggestions yet.  So this is what we get!

I would be Will Smith.  It’s kind of ironic because I’m a wimpy, boring, white girl, and Will Smith is a funny, talented guy who’s brave and takes on whatever’s thrown his way.  For example, Will Smith played as the main character in The Fresh Prince of Bel-air, which was written and based off of Will Smith’s life growing up.  Will Smith played himself on the show; a witty, charming guy from West Philadelphia who could street talk his way into anything he wanted after moving to Beverly Hills.  He gained the nickname ‘Prince’  “because of the way he could charm his way out of trouble” (IMDB, Will Smith).

Aside from Smith’s acting on The Fresh Prince, hes also played in countless movies such as: Independence Day, Men in Black, The Pursuit of Happyness, Hancock, Seven Pounds, Six Degrees of Separation, and many more.  Will Smith was also a rapper for a period of time where he earned a Grammy Award for the song “Summertime”, and also received another Grammy for “Parents Just Don’t Understand” as the best rap performance in the 80’s.

Will Smith was a [clean] musician, an actor, and father to three children.  Something else I love about Will Smith is that his marriage life isn’t broadcasted for all of the world to see.  He’s been married since 1997 to Jada Pinkett Smith, and I don’t recall ever hearing much about divorce or fighting in their marriage (like most Hollywood flakes).

So overall, I’d say Will Smith is a pretty good guy to replace myself with if I had the opportunity.

So now my question to you is, if you could be any famous person – actor, musician, artist, etc – who would you be and why?

xoxo, Taylor
